Guy in Florida paid $1,000 for an electric boat from China and was quite surprised when unboxing it

This man in Florida bought himself a $1,000 electric boat from Chinese website Alibaba, and the most fun quirk wasn’t the vessel itself.

Instead, it was how he received it — the unboxing process surprised him.

More importantly, it took him quite some time to just get the electric boat out of its packaging.

To put the cherry on the top, he also got some free goodies — well, a lot of them.

Micah Toll from the EbikeSchool.com YouTube channel contacted a seller on Alibaba and had a custom electric boat made just for him.

In a video he posted about it, he showed the entire unboxing process and also his first impressions of the $1,000 vessel.

While spending that much on boat, that too electric, would be a steal deal for some, other have gotten way more for much less — but then again, you need your fair share of luck for that.

We’re referring to the guy who saw an ad for a free boat on Facebook Marketplace and got a free yacht instead.

Or this duo of friends who got a $250 speedboat on Facebook Marketplace, for that matter.

Anyway, Micah’s boat certainly arrived in style, if anything.

He got it shipped to his father’s home in Miami, Florida, because it would have been convenient for him to receive it.

The packaging surprised him

It arrived in a massive wooden crate that looked sturdy enough from the outside.

But as he began to unbox the package, he was amazed by how well done the packaging job was.

There were hundreds of screws and dozens of plywood sheets protecting the electric boat inside.

Micah estimated there was a few hundred dollars worth of plywood used in the packaging alone.

But there was more — the boat was further protected by a galvanized steel frame — which looked quite expensive.

After spending a few hours with his dad, Micah was finally able to get the boat out of its box.

On top of that, he also found not one or two, but a total of 10 life jackets inside.

Just the packaging and those life jackets would make up for more than half of what he paid for — assuming his estimates were in the right ballpark.

As for the vessel itself, it had some shortcomings — but the YouTuber already knew that.

Unlike the $4,000 fake Range Rover we ordered from Alibaba, this boat was much better off.

Micah, however, had plans to replace some of the parts to transform it as per his liking, and was mostly satisfied with his purchase.

He got his money’s worth in the end and spent some time with his father, so it was a win-win.
