A pair of German YouTubers have spent four weeks creating a Tesla tank using a car they borrowed from a friend who assumed they were borrowing the EV to simply get from A to B.

The conversion of the EV has required some significant changes, ranging from removing the tires in addition to adding tank tracks.

Other modifications include the addition of a steel framework within the new tracks.

At the end of the video, they unveil the Tesla tank to their unsuspecting friend.

The most significant change to the EV is the removal of its tires and replacement of them with tracks that would typically be found on a main battle tank.

YouTubers, The Real Life Guys, extensively designed the new tracks for the electric car.

The tracks are enormous, weighing 1.3 tons each and the steel framework in the center further increases the weight.

The quality of the work is incredibly high and, as a result, the YouTubers deserve a lot of credit.

Each section of the framework is welded together neatly, with struts in the middle for extra support.

The new chain gear is a massive drive wheel, while the additional axle drives the wheel and is specially mounted to the Tesla.

A custom Cybertruck was previously seen plowing through snow with crazy track wheels while towing.

While originally claiming that they used their friend’s Tesla, the pranksters finally revealed that the modifications were actually done on an identical example.

This was so they could dupe their friend into thinking they used his actual EV to create the tank.

The white Tesla is then wrapped so it looks like their friend before they reveal that it isn’t actually his car that became a tank. The Tesla is also hoisted onto wooden pallets so that the giant tracks can be fitted.

However, it was a slow process, so a scissor lift was brought in to make the fittings quicker.

The result is incredible with the car now sitting high and mounted on the tracks.

In addition to the tracks, the YouTubers added a front winch to improve its capabilities.

When they revealed the car to their friend, he let out anguished yells of “No!” as he couldn’t believe what they had done to ‘his; car.

Upon climbing in, he realized it wasn’t his car, and the trick was complete.
