Built to chase, but bold enough to outshine even the flashiest supercars along the way. That’s what makes the coolest cop cars – like the Lamborghini Huracan and S3 Hoverbike – unforgettable.

Around the world, police fleets include everything from Mustangs and Bugattis to F1-style rockets.

Some were donated, some seized, and a few were built to save lives – but all of them prove one thing: patrol cars don’t have to be boring.

Here are some of our picks for the coolest police cars ever built.

Lamborghini Huracan – The medical miracle

Italy’s state police drive a specially equipped Lamborghini Huracan – and it does way more than just patrol.

In 2020, the V10 supercar transported a kidney from Padua to Rome – 300 miles in just two hours.

Donated by Lamborghini, the car is assigned to officers with advanced training and is fully outfitted for emergency duty.

Bugatti Veyron – Dubai’s rolling billboard

With over 1,000 horsepower and a top speed of 253mph, Dubai’s Bugatti Veyron might be the most expensive cop car in the world.

But it’s not used for chasing anyone – it’s a PR weapon, designed to dazzle tourists and show the world what Dubai policing looks like in the fast lane.

Bugatti

Dodge Challenger Hellcat – Seized and deployed

In Texas, one cop car started out as a street racer.

This 1,080 horsepower Hellcat was confiscated after a 160mph chase on I-10 and now serves with the Department of Public Safety.

It’s been rebadged and repurposed as a very loud, very fast warning.

Saleen Mustang – Supercharged for service

This California-built Saleen Mustang makes 730 horsepower and was donated to Riverside PD to support public events and fallen officer charities.

It’s fully kitted out with lights and sirens, and only certified officers are allowed behind the wheel.

BAC Mono – Track car turned traffic patrol

The Isle of Man police roll with a BAC Mono – a single-seater, street-legal race car that hits 60mph in 2.8 seconds.

It’s used for road safety awareness and community events, but don’t be fooled – it’s faster than most supercars you’ll see on public roads.

Alfa Romeo Giulia QV – Italy’s armored fleet

Italy’s other police force, the Carabinieri, received 1,770 Alfa Romeo Giulias for field duty.

While not as flashy as a Lambo, these turbocharged, armored sedans are fast, practical, and ready for everything from emergencies to high-risk arrests.

Alfa Romeo

Ford Mustang SSP – Spy plane spotter

In the 1980s, Ford offered a Special Service Package for the Mustang, creating a V8-powered highway cop car.

The US Air Force even used them to guide U-2 spy planes on landings – and yes, a few ended up in the hands of lucky buyers after retirement.

Chevrolet Camaro B4C – Z28 in disguise

Not willing to let Ford have all the fun, Chevy released the B4C police Camaro as part of their own Special Service Package.

It looked like a regular RS model but was packed with Z28-level performance: upgraded brakes, cooling systems, and a 145mph speedo made it a real threat to any lead-footed driver in the ’90s.

And it gets better: there’s one for sale in Nevada, still equipped with pursuit-ready gear, if you’re interested.

Chevrolet Biscayne – Vintage enforcement

Back in the ’60s, the Chevrolet Biscayne was the go-to for budget-conscious departments.

Santa Cruz PD now has a restored 1961 model for events – complete with vintage lights, blue paint, and an engine that still pulls like it’s 1961.

It undoubtedly still holds its spot on the list of coolest cop cars.

Dodge Monaco – The Bluesmobile legend

Technically not a real patrol car, the Dodge Monaco earned its stripes in The Blues Brothers.

Fitted with ‘cop tires, cop suspension, and cop shocks,’ it lives on as one of the most iconic cop cars in film – and a cult favorite in car culture.

S3 Hoverbike – Taking patrols to the sky

Last but not least: the S3 Hoverbike, gifted to Dubai police by Hoversurf.

This battery-powered flyer hovers 16ft above ground and hits 62mph.

It’s part traffic deterrent, part futuristic flex – and proof that even the sky isn’t off-limits for cop cars.

The coolest cop cars aren’t just for chasing criminals

What started as stripped-down patrol cars has evolved into a global showcase of speed, design, and raw power.

From Italy’s kidney-delivering Lamborghini to Dubai’s hovering bike, the coolest cop cars today – and from the past – are built to do more than enforce the law.

They’re saving lives, turning heads, and proving that when it comes to performance, police fleets can go toe-to-toe with the wildest supercars on Earth.

Because sometimes, the most unforgettable cars on the road come with flashing lights and a badge.
