Ford Puma released to rave reviews
The Puma was the company’s answer to the ever-growing crossover car craze.
A variant of the Fiesta, the car was first released in 2019.
The model itself borrows its name from the compact car of the same name, built by Ford between 1997 and 2002.
Production of the crossover car is based in Romania, and has remained there since the car’s launch.
The Puma comes with the brand’s famed 1.0 liter EcoBoost, three-cylinder engine.
In 2021, it became the brand’s best-selling model in the UK, surpassing the Fiesta.
It has received stellar praise since its release, particularly for its engine and its trunk space.
Blue oval brand’s crossover goes electric
Naturally, in the face of the changing car landscape, Ford has evolved to face the competition.
This means converting the popular Puma to an all-electric offering.
The Puma is powered by a 44-kilowatt-hour battery under the passenger compartment.
In addition, the Gen-E uses a battery from South Korea – the SK On battery.
This battery is made from a combination of nickel, manganese, and cobalt.
All of this is to say that the Gen-E has a range of 233 miles, which is pretty impressive.
When you consider the changing nature of the EV industry, the Puma Gen-E is sure to be a hit.
All in all, it will be very interesting to see how, if at all, the Puma Gen-E changes the model’s popularity.
