The Ford F-100 pick-up truck was one of the longest-serving vehicles in the history of Ford’s lineup.

First released in 1953 as part of the second-generation F-Series, the truck became a much-beloved workhorse.

Recently, a restored example of the pick-up hit the streets.

And it’s an absolute beauty that has a whole host of party tricks.

Ford F-100 – America’s workhorse pick-up truck

In 1953, Ford released the second generation of their F-Series pick-up truck range.

The series all came in four numbers, F-1, F-2, F-3, and F-4.

The F-100 would become the half-ton F-1 truck, and would be the lightest entry in the Ford range.

Throughout its 30-year existence, nearly every generation of F-100 truck has undergone drastic style changes.

When the fourth generation came around in 1961, the 4.9-liter, inline-six cylinder engine was introduced.

For a long time, it served as the standard engine option for the pick-up truck.

1975 saw the introduction of the F-150 truck, which would ultimately lead to the demise of the F-100.

The F-100 would see its final year in the US market in 1983, being replaced by the Ranger.

Custom F-100 truck turns heads

In recent days, video of a custom F-100 was released on the internet – and it has been making waves.

The YouTube channel Autotopia LA recently featured a special build on their channel.

Built by Velocity Modern Classics, this 1967 Ford F-100 is a true beauty.

Sporting a beautiful navy-and-cream color scheme, this truck looks better now than it did brand-new.

And trust us, that’s only the beginning – because the fun begins under the hood.

Powering this stunner is a 5.0-iter, Gen Three Coyote V8, which is extremely tunable.

That being said, the guys at Velocity kept the engine at 460HP, a move that’s been praised online.

This custom truck also sits on a Roadster Shop chassis, providing excellent handling.

The interior is equally well done, with a touchscreen and leather upholstery.

Velocity’s custom F-100 truck even starts and stops with a conventional key, too.

Overall, we have to say that we applaud Velocity’s work – it’s a truly excellent restoration job.
