The Tesla Robotaxi has officially gone beyond sketches and renderings, with video footage offering a fleeting look inside its interior and display user interface.
The clip, shared by a Reddit user, shows the Robotaxi sporting a Texas license plate, presumably making its test drive in Austin.
There was a person in the passenger seat, who is likely a Tesla employee, with the driver’s seat left empty.
The vehicle also appeared to be tailed by a Model Y, likely for safety reasons.

First look at the inside of a Tesla Robotaxi
This footage of the Tesla Robotaxi, also known as the Cybercab, was uploaded to X, and subsequently reshared on Reddit.
The vehicle can be seen adorned with Tesla’s new ‘Robotaxi’ logo, in the Cyberpunk-inspired Cybertruck font.
The focal point of the video was a large central touchscreen, which looks similar to most infotainment systems you see on Tesla vehicles these days.
However, when zoomed in, you can spot two large buttons on the screen.
The red button says ’emergency stop’, while orange button says ‘pull over’.
It is unclear whether these buttons are just for the test run, or whether these will be available to customers once the Cybercab officially launches.
The Cybercab will tentatively launch on June 22
Just a week earlier, Tesla announced that the Robotaxi service would ‘tentatively’ launch on June 22, and some are already being spotted on the road.
However, Elon Musk also said that the date could shift due to safety concerns.
Tesla has long promoted the promise of a Robotaxi: a ride-sharing network unlocked by Full Self-Driving (FSD) software and an affordable, autonomous EV from the ground up.
The Cybercab was first officially teased in October 2024 during the ‘We, Robot’ event, where Tesla showcased the gull‑winged, wheel‑free design.
Despite how competitive the space has become, Tesla’s official launch of the Robotaxi will definitely make waves within the industry.
A major competitor is Waymo, which is aiming to launch autonomous rides in another three major American cities.
Still, Tesla’s Robotaxi is one of the most anticipated products coming out of the carmaker.
As we count down towards its official launch, the world will likely be watching closely to see how it performs.
