Floyd Mayweather’s rare $4.8 Million Koenigsegg hypercar sold for half price

Floyd Mayweather took his love for cars to the next level by owning a $4.8 million Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita hypercar, but the car was tragically sold for half price.

The famed boxer was once a world champion in an unprecedented five weight classes.

But he is also a heavyweight car fanatic.

At one time, among many in his massive collection, there was a super-rare hypercar.

Mayweather recently made headlines when announcing his latest real estate venture, which saw him scoop up even more New York property by spending a colossal $402 million on 62 Manhattan apartment buildings.

But we all know Mayweather also has an equally enthusiastic approach to car shopping.

Back in 2015, the former fighter didn’t pull any punches in his garage display, as he took to social media to show off a one-of-two Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita.

The 1,004HP machine was no ordinary hypercar, though, as the typical black Koenigsegg color was ditched for a ‘three white’ body paint job.

Described as a ‘diamond on wheels’ by the Swedish manufacturers, the look is achieved through a process called carbon weave.

According to the makers, the paintwork ‘sparkles as if millions of tiny white diamonds’ have been trapped inside the body.

Mayweather purchased the car in 2015 and he posed with it on Instagram.

“My new 4.8 Million dollar car. $4,800,000.00 Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita supercar,” he said.

But the hypercar isn’t in his collection anymore.

Just two years after buying the Koenigsegg, he placed it at auction, and it sold for a miserable $2.6 million.

But it didn’t make much of a dent in Mayweather’s portfolio, even with the massive loss.

And that’s because the boxer-turned-investment guru also owns an incredible all-black supercar collection, and that’s just the curtain raiser before you hit the beefier Rolls-Royce SUVs that he bought on a whim.
