An American from Florida took a 1972 Plymouth Satellite, and Tesla-swapped it, creating an incredible retro EV.

Owner Kevin showcased the car on the That Racing Channel on YouTube in 2022, where he also took on a 700HP Dodge Dart.

The wild EV muscle car would shock the Dodge, and the video shows just how much effort went into this custom car.

An electric muscle car might not appeal to purists, but Kevin has done great things with this 1972 Satellite, creating what he calls Electrollite.

What made Kevin swap the Tesla powertrain into the Tesla

The EV took around a year and a half to build, and under the hood we saw the mighty Tesla battery pack.

The car has 10 modules up front and another six in the rear, Kevin having taken them from a P100D Tesla Model S.

Kevin explained that he’s a lifelong gearhead, and simply wanted to make the Plymouth as speedy as he possibly could.

The idea was to also show that electric motors can revive old cars. But, he admitted, it was a controversial build.

He also said he’s made new enemies, as well as friends, but he didn’t seem to mind.

Driving the Plymouth Electrollite is a wild experience

The presenter of the video was stunned by the acceleration of the Plymouth, and how vicious it was.

The lack of sound was also slightly unnerving, especially when coupled with the speed of the muscle car.

A special line-lock mode locks up the front brakes, allowing Kevin to create epic burnouts with the EV.

Later in the video, Kevin raced it against his 700HP Dodge Dart, which still has an internal combustion engine.

It isn’t even a contest, as when both cars put the power down the Plymouth easily outdragged the Dodge.

It is bittersweet for Kevin as he adores his Dodge Dart, but said he has more fun now in the Electrollite.

And it doesn’t matter what advantage they gave the Dodge off the line, the Plymouth easily won every race.

However you feel about electric versus gasoline, you have to be impressed by just how good this restomod Plymouth is.
