Ferrari’s next performance machine won’t burn fuel, or even have an engine.

Instead, it’ll fly across the water, powered entirely by the wind.

That’s right – Ferrari just unveiled its first racing sailing yacht.

And it’s not just any boat. It’s a 100ft experimental monohull built for performance.

About Hypersail – Ferrari’s first sailing yacht

Meet Hypersail – Ferrari’s first-ever zero-emissions racing machine.

The 100ft monohull has no combustion engine and no electric drivetrain. Instead, it harnesses the wind, making it Ferrari’s first truly engine-free performance build.

The project’s design is led by Guillaume Verdier, one of the world’s top naval architects. His resume includes some of the fastest yachts ever made – from the America’s Cup to the Vendée Globe.

All onboard systems are powered by renewable sources derived from wind energy.

That means no fossil fuels, no backup generator, and absolutely zero emissions.

But Hypersail isn’t just a statement piece – it’s a full-scale tech testbed.

Ferrari will use it to trial cutting-edge systems that could influence future road cars and F1 innovations.

At the helm is Italian sailing legend Giovanni Soldini, known for his globe-spanning, record-breaking voyages.

With him in charge, this thing is expected to fly.

The yacht is scheduled to launch in 2026, with sea trials beginning next year – likely before Ferrari’s electric cars hit public roads.

The future of Ferrari is changing

Hypersail isn’t a one-off curiosity – it’s a signal of Ferrari’s broader shift toward zero-emissions performance. And it’s timed to launch the same year Ferrari will unveil its first fully electric supercar.

The yacht proves that Ferrari’s ambitions go far beyond land-based speed.

It’s venturing into new territory, using performance innovation to shape the brand’s identity for the next era.

If Hypersail’s tech works at sea, don’t be surprised if it shows up in Ferrari’s future EVs.

A wind-powered, engine-free Ferrari performance machine might sound like something from a sci-fi film.

But it’s real, it’s coming, and it’s redefining what the prancing horse stands for.
