Ferrari F80 sounds like it isn’t even there while blazing on the track at 218MPH

The LaFerrari successor — the Ferrari F80 — finally made its debut with an all-new V6 engine that is supposedly as powerful as it gets, but how does it sound?

Of course, we will compare it to the iconic V12 that has been a fan favorite for years, but let’s see how it fares on its own.

After all, this isn’t just any V6 — it’s part of a hybrid powertrain where three electric motors also sit.

The automaker recently put the F80 on the track, and someone was there with their cameras to record it.

The power of the Ferrari F80

First things first, the Ferrari F80 and its V6 engine want to be the best, and the numbers certainly don’t lie.

With the new hypercar sending out a whopping 1,183 horsepower, it’s made to conquer the track.

This is undoubtedly a jump from the LaFerrari and even the Ferrari F50 that came before it.

Although we have established how powerful it is, that doesn’t mean it also screams like other supercars from the Italian marque.

You see, all of those featured a fan favorite V12, which not only made a sound you could call symphony, but also acted like it.

If you don’t believe it, hear the V12 inside the Ferrari 12Cilindri for yourself.

Now, things slightly change when it comes to the F80.

There’s also an official reason why the F80 doesn’t feature the V12.

The Italian automaker put the Ferrari F80 on the track at Imola in Italy so that the masses could see a demonstration of its raw power.

A video on the YouTube channel NM2255 captured the entire thing, and you can’t blame the audio for not hearing much.

Even when the F80 flew by the camera, it seemed like a purely electric supercar with little to no sound.

Moreover, it didn’t go by completely silently — but you get the point.

Less sound, however, doesn’t mean it wasn’t fast.

Thanks to the V6 powertrain that lets the F80 reach a top speed of 217.5mph (350km/h), it quietly conquered the track.

In addition, this V6 is almost the same as the ones in the automaker’s Le Mans cars, including the 499P and the SF-24.

Like it or not, this hypercar is fast, even if it doesn’t make an appealing sound.
