Drivers make wild Chevrolet discovery inside old shipping container

These drivers made a wild Chevrolet discovery inside an old shipping container.

YouTube channel Killer Kustoms was on the hunt for a 1961 Chevy Impala Bubble Top, which had reportedly been stored inside the container for over a decade.

Considering it’d been locked away for more than 10 years, expectations had to be managed.

Bcause there was a good chance that this car would need a lot of work for it to be back in top form?

We’ve seen a ton of cars stowed in containers over the years.

It’s always uncertain what they’ll look like once they come out, especially if they’ve done a few years in solitary confinement.

This man locked his Ford F-250 Ranger away for 20 years, while this Chevy Nova did a 30-year stint.

One 1993 Mustang Cobra wasn’t looking too great after three decades inside a container.

So, it’s a mixed bag.

That leaves one question. What would this 1961 Chevrolet Impala Bubble Top look like after it was brought out of hibernation?

Well, it wasn’t quite a whole car.

There was no interior left, like at all.

The wheels were all present, and the exterior was more or less whole, but that was pretty much it.

It was a long way off from how it would have looked in its heyday.

Back then, Chevys were all the rage, and the Impala was no exception.

The Chevy Impala was first produced between 1958 and 1985, with its third generation launching in 1961.

Sport Coupe models featured the ‘bubbleback’ roof design and were only available for 1961.

Only 11,719 were built, according to curbsideclassic.

The guys over at Killer Kustoms have quite a job on their hands if they want to get this car back to how it used to be.

But where there’s a will, there’s a way, right?

We’ve seen car enthusiasts work miracles before.

Take the Victoria’s Secret Lamborghini as a prime example of that, or this 1969 Camaro that was given an incredible restoration.
