A car owner on Reddit was left scratching his head after his attempts to remove a rear bumper sticker backfired.

The hilarious sticker needed to come off his car, but the technique he used didn’t give the results he’d hoped for.

That led to an interesting image on Reddit and a flurry of people commenting on the owner’s predicament.

Quite a few found the sticker itself funny, while others poked fun at the way the owner had tried to get it off.

What the Star Wars-themed sticker originally said

The sticker itself had a Star Wars theme, with another image revealing it originally contained something of a pun.

“Storm Pooper on board,” it read.

The decal was a tongue-in-cheek reference to a young child likely pooping quite a lot, and it is quite cute.

It also had a small baby Storm Trooper on it, and it in itself is quite funny.

The sticker, though, was from a previous owner, and after the Reddit poster bought the car, he wanted the sticker gone.

However the attempt to remove it did not go to plan.

As the first image shows, while it is gone, it has left an imprint of what it originally said.

The sticker may as well still be there, as its outline is so clearly visible.

The owner asked for help removing the traces

The owner said in the post that they used Goo Gone and elbow grease to try to remove it.

But it had clearly left a trace on the rear bumper.

Asking for advice, the owner questioned if they should have just used 99 percent isopropyl alcohol instead.

One user said that a cleaning brick should have been used along with elbow grease.

Another said that they should start by trying to polish the Star Wars-themed damage off the paintwork.

However, they cautioned that if that doesn’t work, the rear bumper might need a repaint.

One amusingly suggested selling the car on resale site Carvana.

“They offered me about $3.50,” the original poster jokingly responded.

It is good to see that he and others have a sense of humor about it.

But it isn’t ideal to see so much damage inflicted by a sticker removal.
