The GMC Sierra EV Denali turned one driver’s electric expectations upside down.

He put this electric truck through a full day of real-world testing in Northern California and walked away stunned.

From towing capacity to comfort, the experience reshaped how he viewed electric vehicles.

“I had to completely rethink what I believed about electric trucks,” he said.

GMC Sierra handled more terrain than he expected

The test route included narrow mountain roads, steep grades, and tight corners.

These were the kinds of conditions where most electric trucks might struggle, but the Sierra EV held its own.

‘It didn’t feel like I was pushing an electric vehicle out of its comfort zone. It felt like this was the comfort zone.,” he noted.

He was particularly struck by the truck’s control while hauling a heavy trailer.

Even on sharp descents and tight climbs, the towing capacity stayed consistent and the handling remained stable.

Range that actually delivered

The driver came in skeptical about EV range.

The Sierra EV claims up to 460 miles per charge, and the truck came remarkably close to that, even under pressure.

With elevation changes, gear in the back, and plenty of throttle, the electric truck still delivered over 200 miles with ease.

“The range anxiety just never kicked in, I kept waiting for it, but the battery didn’t flinch,” he said.

Quiet, powerful, and comfortable

Despite being built to haul and tow, the Sierra EV rode like a luxury SUV.

The driver said the ride quality, cabin insulation, and overall feel were on par with high-end vehicles.

“I’ve been in trucks with leather before, but not like this.

“It’s genuinely high-end,” he said.

Inside, that luxury interior also features soft-touch surfaces, a panoramic display, and an intuitive control layout.

A deep front trunk adds practical storage, and the cabin has space to stretch out in every seat.

By the end of the day, the driver said he felt completely re-educated.

The Sierra EV wasn’t just a strong electric truck.

The Denali was a fully capable, refined machine with serious towing capacity and a comfort level that surprised him.

“It didn’t just change how I feel about electric trucks,” he said.

“It made me want one.”

If there’s a better advert for EV trucks, we’ve not seen it.
