A Californian architect has turned a multi-million dollar plot into the ultimate home for fans of the Porsche 911.
Architect Steven Harris already had an impressive Donald-Wexler-designed house in Rancho Mirage, California, but he felt it had a few things missing.
That included an underground garage for his impressive collection of 911 RS models, from 1974 to 2024.
Harris worked his magic to create the ultimate garage, one that can comfortably house all his cars underground and bring them back to the surface so he can drive them.

The Porsche garage is an impressive structure
To house his Porsche, Harris decided the best course of action was to build a second house.
He and his husband did just that, building the house and garage across the street from their old home.
This garage is one of the most impressive that we have ever come across.
The house is spread across around 5,000 square feet.
For the garage, there is an additional 5,000 square feet to house the incredible selection of cars that Harris and his husband Lucien Rees-Roberts, own.
The garage can store over 50 of Harris’s Porsches, while an $85,000 lift brings the cars to the surface.
What makes the collection so impressive is that Harris doesn’t let the cars gather dust.
Every one of the cars is driven at some point, with many going out for early morning drives.

The garage isn’t just a generic, dark, and bleak facility for the cars either.
Windows let natural light in.
This is backed up with electric lighting, which keeps the garage nice and bright.
A small corridor features the Porsche name on the side, in neon signage and using the original font.
Above the garage, small portions of glass floor allow those in the house to take a peek into the wonderful collection.
The Porsche collection houses some real gems, too.
One of those is naturally a Porsche Carrera GT, quite possibly the best Porsche ever made.
Another is a 1984 911 SCRS, a car that Harris has turned down $3 million+ offers for.
For fans of anything Porsche, this truly is a garage of dreams.
