A dealership in California has come to the rescue of a ‘virtually abandoned’ Porsche 911 GT3 that was absolutely covered in tree sap.
Many folks dream of one day having their very own Porsche 911.
However, the owner of this 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 has left the vehicle to go to ruin and it’s now completely covered in a layer of dirt, grime, and tree sap.
Thankfully, the team at Porsche Monterey is on hand to give the car a full restoration and get it looking as good as new.

The dealership has taken on the challenge
There are few things more satisfying than seeing an old or abandoned car restored to its former glory – such as this decrepit Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 that was completely overhauled and is now worth $500,000 or this 1988 Porsche 928 that was given a new lease of life after 15 years of neglect.
And over in California, the experts from the Porsche Monterey Service Team have tasked themselves with getting this 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 back to its former glory.
In a post on Instagram, the dealership explained that once a year they take on the ‘fun and exciting challenge of sourcing and restoring a classic Porsche’.
For 2025, the vehicle in question happened to be this once-stunning 911 GTS.
The vehicle has less than 17,000 miles on the clock, meaning it was a prime choice for a restoration project.
But they knew it would take a lot of work.

The post goes on to say that the Porsche had been ‘virtually abandoned’ and has moved ‘less than 1,000 miles in the last 14 years’.
Not only that but the car had been parked up underneath a Monterey pine tree ‘where it has collected every ounce of sap and pine needle the tree had to offer’. Not ideal.
Alongside the tree sap and pine needles, the 911 is covered in dirt and dust and from what can be seen in the clip shared online, the inside of the car hasn’t fared much better.
Here’s hoping this Porsche 911 GT3 is back on the road in no time.
