BYD is the Chinese company taking the car world by absolute storm, particularly where EVs are concerned.
The EV firm, headquartered in Shenzhen, China, is innovating the industry almost daily.
Today, China’s flagship firm just launched two 1,100HP EVs.
And it’s also announced a bombshell that could change the car world forever.

BYD: The company that came out of nowhere
In case you feel like you have to stop to catch your breath, you’re not the only one.
To many of us, it feels as though BYD has quietly crept up on, and completely changed, the EV world overnight.
But the company has been around for a lot longer than you might think.
The world’s hottest car company was actually established in 1995 – as a battery manufacturer.
BYD Auto is an offshoot of BYD, the battery builder – and was established in January 2003.
The Chinese firm produced its first car, the F3, in 2005.
2008 would see BYD present their first hybrid offering – the F3DM.
Their first all-electric vehicle would come the following year, in 2009.
Chinese EV giants unveil two 1,100HP cars
This week, the automaker announced the release of its new pair of EVs, underpinned by its Super e-Platform.
And those two cars could be massive game changers.
The Tang L SUV and the Han L sedan are BYD’s latest EV innovations.
And they come with some seriously impressive performance to boot.
Three specifications of each car are available, but the numbers will shock you.
The dual-motor, AWD Tang L comes with 1,100HP – for just under $40,000.
The different versions of the Han L sedan, though, haven’t been announced as of yet.
However, we know that it’s underpinned by an 83.2 kWh Blade battery, so we can assume it will be similar to the Tang.
Charging times might have solved last EV issues
A big point of contention for owners of ICE cars has been charging times for EVs.
Well, if reports are to be believed, that might not be an issue anymore.
According to the Chinese maker, the Han sedan can charge from 10 percent to 70 percent in just six minutes.
But it gets better. It can also charge to 248 miles of range in just five minutes, with a 100% charge from 0 time of as little as 20 minutes.
If this is true and to be believed, then it could change the car world forever.
Because it might just mean that EVs are truly viable alternatives to the ICE age.
