Bugatti unveils plans for one-off hypercar
Bugatti is officially preparing to begin a new chapter in its long-storied history of coachbuilding.
This latest chapter is set to be unveiled to the entire car world in just a few days on August 7th.
A series of cryptic teasers have already been released by Bugatti – not that the appetite needed whetting, by any means.
Bugatti describes the upcoming model as ‘a celebration of grace and elegance, rooted in the unique artistry and heritage of the Bugatti story, our latest Solitaire.’
And the teasers released by Bugatti appear to show that something very exciting is on the way.
The teasers show a wide, horseshoe grille with an aluminum finish, positioned above a carbon fiber splitter.
This model is finished in a vibrant shade of metallic green, whilst a portion of the rear deck is also visible.
It would be a very logical assumption to assume that this upcoming Bugatti would share its platform with the Tourbillon.
Bugatti appears, however, to have completely dispelled that theory.
What exactly is this coach-built beast going to look like?
“Not simply customized, completely unique,” the brand said.
“Prepare to reimagine what defines a Bugatti, one singular vision at a time. Every curve sculpted with purpose. Every detail crafted to perfection.”
This language suggests a vehicle that is completely one-off and one-of-a-kind, indeed.
It is clear that Bugatti is very much moving and evolving beyond the brand’s traditional norms.
What makes this announcement so exciting is that nobody knows at all what to expect.
Some comments on social media have even suggested that this new, coach-built Bugatti could make a move into the SUV crossover sector.
What do you think that this new, upcoming Bugatti could look like?
Will it be a hypercar inspired by the Veyron, Chiron or Tourbillon?
Or could it be something more unique, like an SUV crossover from the brand?
