The car boasts flashy features both inside and out the car, but the issue is actually hidden from view.

Made by MG, it’s hailed as a great car that doesn’t bleed your wallet dry.

And, after seeing the car online, gearheads are all in agreement about one thing, the engine type.

When it comes to purchasing sports cars, the pleasure certainly doesn’t come cheap. But one content creator thinks he’s found an ultimate win.

Forget spending hundreds of thousands on a sports car, because this man from Boston says his discovery is the ‘best cheap sports car’ money can buy, but there is one issue with this cheap car of dreams.

Content Creator captain.crankshaft detailed how a cheap MG model named the Cyberster caught his eye.

“This is MG’s new convertible; it’s MG’s attempt at a sports car. It has a big problem, though,” explained the car enthusiast.

The design wasn’t an issue, nor were the doors that made it feel ‘way more expensive than it is’, it wasn’t the screen-filled interior, either.

In fact, the problem was lying low beneath the hood instead.

“The problem is the engine. It doesn’t have one. Instead, it’s electric, but it does make over 500hp,” the creator went on to reveal.

MG itself states that the car has a range of up to 507km and an estimated charge time of just 38 minutes, which is quite impressive, you have to admit.

The Cyberster is described by the manufacturer as being the world’s ‘first all-electric Roadster‘ and claims to be ‘unlike anything you’ve seen or driven before’

According to AutoTrader, the car starts at $73,444, which, for a sports car, isn’t breaking the bank.

But, despite its impressive exterior and high-tech cabin that give it a luxury feel, not all car fans are entirely convinced by the sports car.

It’s no secret that the EV world is rapidly advancing thanks to groundbreaking technology.

From increased battery safety standards that could stop fires to the development of a 1,000-mile range EV, the cars are the face of the future.

But not every car fan is fond of the idea of merging EVs and sports cars under one hood.

“This honestly has the potential to be a really good British sports car, sadly, because it’s electric, it weighs a lot, and, kinda removes the sportiness that this car could offer,” said one user.

“The big problem is that it’s an MG,” said another car fan.

“I don’t hate it, but basically any EV can claim to be a sports car based on performance. Making it look like one is just like putting racing stripes on your hot hatch, don’t make it perform any better,”.
