Australian drivers can’t work out what’s going on with this intersection – you can hardly call it a roundabout – in Sydney.

The new roundabout recently appeared in the southwestern part of the city, and people don’t know what to make of it.

Many are saying it doesn’t look like a roundabout at all.

And then, even more people made another intriguing point.

Australian drivers aren’t sure you can even call this a roundabout

The new roundabout recently surfaced in the southwestern part of Sydney, and Australian drivers can’t work out how to use it.

It’s easy to see why because, for starters, it’s not even remotely shaped like a roundabout.

It kind of looks like a diamond.

Because of its weird shape, as you can see from the video above (shared by the Sydney Morning Herald), people mostly ignore it and drive over it.

A lot of TikTok users in the comments pointed out that it doesn’t look like a roundabout.

But even more people said that Fairfield roundabout is worse, which is interesting.

We did a bit of googling and we did find (on Reddit) said roundabout in Fairfield, and yep, we get why some people are saying that’s even worse.

Roundabouts are a European obsession

Roundabouts are absolutely everywhere in Europe.

European countries have long been ‘at war’ with traffic lights, as it seems they’re trying to replace each and every one of them with a roundabout.

There’s a small country in the north of Europe that even built one underwater.

Roundabouts are also quite common in Asia, especially in some countries, but they’re not that popular in North America, which is why some Americans may find it difficult to tackle roundabouts in countries like the UK.

There are exceptions, though.

For example, there’s a roundabout in Tennessee that’s so popular it even has a name and its own dedicated song.
