The new Aston Martin Valhalla, the marque’s first-ever mid-engine supercar, has been priced up, and it’s a starling discount on competitors like the McLaren W1.

Valhalla will be the third V-series supercar and is held in promising regard after claiming a top speed of just 3mph off Aston Martin’s record.

Named for the afterlife realm reigned over by the Norse god Odin, Valhalla promises a lot of luxury and power.

But officials have now confirmed its base price will be just half the cost of its UK supercar rivals.

Five years ago, the Valhalla was announced alongside a string of prototypes and stats that slated it would be the third-fastest Aston Martin yet.

Only lagging behind its father – codenamed ‘Son of Valkyrie’ during production – and the One-77, the speed-orientated supercar will be finally smashing its way down tracks in 2026.

But its price has come as quite a surprise.

Speaking during a recent interview, Aston Martin CEO Adrian Hallmark claimed that the car will cost £850,000 (approximately $1,100,000).

“[The Valhalla is] soon to be the most affordable supercar with a mid-engine compared to an F80 or W1,” Hallmark said.

“I guess if we’d known that they were coming at those prices seven years ago, it wouldn’t be £850,000 today.”

This comes as a bump up from the rumored $800,000. Although that might have just been a currency misinterpretation from original reports.

Even so, it’s still a haircut on other Aston Martin supercars.

Half the price, but not half the glory

The Aston Martin Valhalla has already proved popular, as its final wave of testing has been completed. In addition, orders for the 999 limited-production supercars have almost been filled.

At that price, it’s hard to see why supercar collectors wouldn’t be interested.

It was even given a design boost by F1 legends to increase its driving comfort and speed.

By comparison, the aforementioned 2024 McLaren W1 was priced at $2.1 million. While the 1,184HP plug-in hybrid Ferrari F80 comes in at a huge $3.9 million.

It’s even a massive reduction in the V-series prices. Aston Martin started Valkyrie sales at $3.25 million, and while the Valhalla was never supposed to overtake it, such a disparity is surprising.

Still, the upcoming supercar has already proven to be popular with no shortage of orders. And with deliveries starting next year will have critics clambering to drive one.
