The Aston Martin Valhalla has made its first dynamic public appearance in Monaco with none other than Fernando Alonso behind the wheel.

The Aston Martin Valhalla has recently completed its final validation testing on both regular roads and the track.

With testing complete, the car made its debut on Friday, 23 May, ahead of the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix.

The stunning car was put to the test by Alonso, who took it on the iconic Monaco street circuit.

Even by Aston Martin’s very high standards, the Valhalla is a special car and showcases several ‘firsts’ for the marque.

It’s the first Aston Martin production mid-engine supercar, its first plug-in hybrid, and the carmaker’s first production vehicle with dedicated EV range capability, which is around nine miles, if you’re interested.

It also packs a punch, with its 4.0-litre twin-turbo flat-plane crank V8 engine and electric motor pumping out a combined 1,065 horsepower and 811lb-ft of torque.

The car can hit 0-100km/h (0-62mph) in 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h (217mph).

Ahead of last weekend’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix, Aston Martin enlisted the help of two-time F1 World Champion and Valhalla’s principal development driver Fernando Alonso to show fans exactly what the car can do.

Alonso got behind the wheel of the Valhalla that was finished in AMR25 racecar-inspired Podium Green with a Lime Green livery and took to Monte Carlo’s famous street circuit.

“Having followed this project closely for the past 18 months and working alongside the development team, unveiling Valhalla’s dynamic capability to the world at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend is a fantastic moment for both myself and the brand,” Alonso said in a statement.

“Taking Aston Martin’s unmatched luxury credentials and added cutting-edge F1-inspired technology and class-leading performance, I can confirm Valhalla is a true supercar both on road and on track.

“Outside of the outright power and dynamics, it delivers on all of the raw feelings and emotions you look for when behind the wheel of a car like Valhalla.”

Aston Martin is producing just 999 units of the Valhalla, with first deliveries set to commence later this year.

But if you fancy getting your hands on one, you’ll need to part with around $1,100,000.
