Following in the footsteps of Samsung, Apple is expected to launch a $1,999 foldable iPhone in September 2026, almost seven years after the first one hit the market.
Foldable phones have been around for a while, as Samsung released its first foldable back in 2019, but it looks like Apple is finally hopping on the train.
Allegedly, the almost $2,000 device will be a part of the iPhone 18 line-up and will be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold series that opens up like a book.
This isn’t the first time that Apple has been inspired by a pre-existing device and created its own more popular version. But hopefully it won’t suffer from the same problems that the Samsung foldable did.

The tech world is no stranger to a foldable phone, as they hit the market as early as 2019 with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.
People have been wondering for a long time whether the iPhone manufacturer Apple would ever get involved in the foldable phone spirit.
But now they have an answer.
It seems that Apple will be releasing a brand new foldable iPhone as part of the new iPhone 18 lineup, which will be hitting the market in September 2026.
Allegedly, the foldable iPhone 18 will look similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series and will also open up like a book.
It’s going to be a real money-spinner
Each foldable iPhone will cost $1,999, which is shockingly expensive, and the rollout is expected to deliver a $65 billion windfall for Apple.
This is certainly not the first time the tech giant has paid homage and released its own version of a pre-existing device, like the Apple Watch or the iPad.
And when that happens, generally speaking, the iPhone version will likely be more popular than the original version.
We may even see more tech companies releasing their own versions of foldable phones, as Steve Jobs’ old company has announced its interest in them.
We just hope that the iPhone won’t suffer from the same problem that Samsung had with its early versions of foldable phones, where they would break, snap, and bubble.
