The Dodge Super Bee is a beautiful car.

The American muscle series might not be the most popular of the Dodge army, falling short of rivaling the Challenger.

But it still clocks in as some people’s favorite car of all time – which is good news for this abanonded buzzer that needed some love.

American muscle expert finds abanonded dream car

The first car that the YouTube personality David Freiburger had was a Dodge Super Bee with all the trimmings to become a race car, such as a 750HP Hemi and a roll cage.

Just like many others, the Super Bee was his original dream car.

So when one of his followers hit him up with an abandoned 1970 Dodge Super Bee, he just had to see it.

The car was kept inside a barn, which housed a massive haul of old machinery, including a 1913 Buick and a 1950 VW Beetle tucked away in back.

But the Bee had been sitting in the same spot for 36 years after its owner ripped out the engine to put in his new car, back in 1989.

Still, it was love at first glance. Freiburger’s childhood clearly swam through his eyes as he walked up to the yellow Dodge.

Originally blue, the previous owner had done a great job of painting it yellow. They’d even touched up the Super Bee badges and logos.

Despite its time being abandoned in the barn, the Bee appeared to be in good shape. Even if its smell didn’t indicate that.

Rust was limited, and underneath its coat of dust, the Super Bee was fluttering its wings to get Freiburger to buy it.

Lo and behold, he couldn’t resist the temptation to give this beautiful car a new lease of life.

He wouldn’t be the first to restore a 1970 Dodge Super Bee. This car is a hugely popular choice for American muscle lovers.

But it might be the prettiest one yet.

After loading the Bee onto the back of his truck and hauling it home, the car restoration fanatic gave it its first wash in over three decades.

It was clear to see why he loved these cars.

The stunning non-factory yellow really came to life, and the Bee was humming.

“It’s perfect for me because it’s presentable, but it is far from perfect, so, you can actually drive the car and beat on it and not worry about it,” he said.

“It’s exactly what I dig. All of a sudden, I’m in love with the Super Bee [again].”

The car guru has now promised to give the car some more aesthetic upgrades. First off, he wants to change the black rocker panel, give it a bumble bee stripe, and find ‘cooler’ wheels.

Here’s to hoping the romance continues and Freiburger goes the full way with the restoration.
