A 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV has been spotted completely wrecked in a scrapyard with just 682 miles on the clock.

Given that the first batch of Charger Daytona EVs only landed at dealerships in January of this year, it seems as though this could be one of the first to end up wrecked.

The electric muscle car barely got a chance to flex its muscles before it was involved in some sort of smash.

The car was written-off by its insurers and it doesn’t look like it’ll be hitting the road anytime soon.

While more and more car manufacturers are boosting their EV and hybrid offerings, it still came as a bit of surprise when Dodge announced it was launching the very first all-electric muscle car.

Known for their gas-guzzling performance, muscle cars don’t feel like a natural fit for an EV powertrain, but Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis hailed it as the dawn of a new era.

Dodge

“The electrified 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack delivers Charger Hellcat Redeye levels of performance and announces its presence through the world’s first Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust,” he explained back in March 2024.

In keeping with the sort of power you’d expect from a Dodge muscle car, the 2024 EV Dodge Charger pumps out up to 355 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.

It can reach 0-60mph (0-96km/h) in just 3.3 seconds and can manage 317 miles (510km) between charges.

The EV is currently available with some pretty decent discounts for US buyers.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona EV began landing at dealerships back in January this year, which is barely enough time for that ‘new car smell’ to fade.

But it seems that one unlucky Dodge Charger Daytona has already managed to total their new purchase.

The EV surfaced at Insurance Auto Auctions in Texas where its set to go under the hammer in the next few days.

The odometer shows just 682 miles on the clock, showing that it never really got a chance to get going before it got stopped.

A quick glance at the vehicle shows some slight damage to the front, with the bumper, hood, and LED lights all showing signs of the crash.

While it may not look like much it was enough to set off the airbags – and, ultimately, lead its insurers to write it off.

The listing doesn’t give any details as to further damage – such as what is hiding beneath the hood – but, who knows, maybe if it landed in the right hands it could live to ride another day.
