A company that most people might know as a McLaren tuner just unveiled the new Lanzante 95-59.
Yep, that’s what they call it.
The good news is it has a V8.
And the story behind the name is intriguing.

The first thing you need to know about this Lanzante supercar
Lanzante is a McLaren tuner that specializes in making track-only McLarens street-legal, but on this occasion, the company decided to fly solo.
Even though, for the sake of clarity, this car is indeed based on a McLaren, as you can probably see from the pictures.
The first thing to point out about the Lanzante 95-59 is that it has three seats.
Just like the McLaren F1, McLaren Speedtail, and GMA T.50, the 95-59 is a supercar with one seat at the front for the driver, centrally located, and then two passenger seats right behind the driver.
The engine is a McLaren-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 650hp.
The best part about the car is that it only weighs 1,250kg, so the power-to-weight ratio isn’t bad at all.
Only 59 units will be built, each costing £1,020,000 plus tax.
Translated into dollars, that’s about $1.63 million.
The reason it’s called ’95-59′
The name is actually a reference, and a tribute, to a Le Mans car from the 1990s.
Specifically, the car is a tribute to a 1995 Le Mans racer that essentially kick-started the whole business for them.
In 1995, a McLaren F1 with the number ’59’ – with Dean and Paul Lanzante as team principals – won Le Mans, which was obviously a huge turning point for the company.
Almost exactly 30 years later, they decided to create a car as a tribute to that momentous occasion.
And it’s a beauty.
