This proud-as-punch Dad has been lambasted with the same warning statements by drivers after buying his daughter a 1991 Dodge Stealth for her first car.
While Dodge cars have a reputation for being some of the most exciting rides in American history, one model isn’t painted with the same brush.
The Dodge Stealth, or better known as a Mitsubishi 3000GT or a lovechild between Chrysler and the Japanese giants, is quite a way off models like the Challenger, Charger, and Viper.
But after picking one up as her first car, this young woman is being prepped for a baptism of fire with years of mechanical engineering on the cards.

Picking up an old Dodge car is a wildly popular habit throughout the States, with some of the newer models catching some heat for synthetic EV sounds.
While many of the newer Dodge models are still very successful, some people are getting back to the American engineering that they fell in love with – well, in this case, mixed with a bit of Japanese craftsmanship.
This Dodge Stealth is set to be a woman’s first car, as she picked it out to be a gift from her Dad.
But the car might be more hassle than it’s worth.
Taking to Reddit, the proud Dad was quickly met with a barrage of pleas, hoping that she, or someone nearby to her, was an experienced mechanic.
“Here’s hoping she wants to learn how to fix it,” one popular comment read.
“They’re … notoriously challenging, to be polite about it.”
“Dang. She will be a highly skilled mechanic in a few months. These cars are a pain in the ass. I bought a 1992 3kGT as a second car when I was 14. Had many good times in the garage with that thing,” added another.
The sentiment was echoed time and time again by Redditors, all lamenting over memories of being covered in grease, spending more time under the hood than behind the wheel.
The dad confirmed that he will be on hand to take on the ‘quirks’ of such an old car, but others continued to warn him that the job might be bigger than expected.
“A stealth isn’t going to be challenging because it’s a 30-year-old car, it’s going to be challenging because it’s a Dodge Stealth, and they’ve always been challenging,” a third comment read.
Dodge cars are famously good fixer-uppers, though, with people making good use of old models like this rare Magnum Force GT.
Here’s to hoping that the Dad’s tire isn’t deflated too much, though. Despite its issues, the Dodge Stealth is hellish fun and will be a marvel for his daughter if it can stay on the road.
