Tesla releases new video showing Optimus robot’s progress but we’ve seen something similar before

Tesla shared a new video to showcase what its humanoid robot Optimus can do with its newly acquired dancing skills.

In the clip, the robot can be seen dancing and jumping around with relative competence.

It’s certainly impressive, but a lot of people noticed something interesting.

They’re saying that we’ve seen this before, and they may have a point.

Tesla shared a new update regarding Optimus, the humanoid robot that the company first unveiled back in 2022.

The company has already built two generations of this robot, and it believes that this will become a commercial product designed to make our lives easier, with the potential to turn Tesla into a multi-trillion-dollar company.

As far as Tesla is concerned, everybody will want one and everybody will be able to buy one.

We’ve seen several videos of its robot in the last couple of years.

Among other things, we’ve seen it perform menial but useful tasks at the company’s Gigactory and even make eggs.

Tesla also used its robots for the Cybercab unveil, where Optimus interacted with guests and served cocktails, although to be fair, it appeared they mostly remote-controlled robots.

Now, in the latest video, Optimus can be ‘admired’ dancing and jumping around, looking more or less like that one cousin at a family wedding who always has one too many.

But the robot‘s dancing skills aren’t the main issue here, because there’s another elephant in the room.

This is because several people online pointed out that Optimus is doing the same thing that a humanoid robot called G1, and built by a different company, Unitree, has already done before.

In fact, some people are saying that G1 moves with a lot more balance and fluidity than Optimus.

Perhaps Unitree’s G1 and Tesla’s Optimus could have a freestyle face-off and see who wins.

That’s a dance-off we’d watch.
