Lamborghini factory: How supercars are made

The small town of Sant’Agata Bolognese, located just outside of Milan, has housed the fabled Italian brand since Ferruccio Lamborghini first placed a 3.5-liter V12 engine and wheels together for the 350 GTV in 1963.

The facility, simply named Lamborghini Headquarters, was a purpose-built factory that has evolved with the times, much like the range of supercars that have rolled off the production line.

Throughout its steeped history, thousands of sports cars have been created here, from the golden-oldies like Espada, Miura, and Countach up to the more recent Aventador, Gallardo, and the one-off $117m Egoista concept.

Nowadays, the facility produces the Urus, Revuelto, and Temerario, having ended the assembly of the Huracán after 10 years.

Lambo enthusiasts have recently been allowed into the facility for tours, which includes walking through the factory floor to witness how the supercars are made.

Assembly line turned Museum

Having been a cornocopia of Italian manufacturing excellence for over 60 years, the Lamborghini HQ now also doubles as a museum.

The facility has made two spin-off museums, one two-storey building focused on the history of the famous sports car, and another that is Ferruccio-centric.

Lamborghini

Lamborghini started in the mind of one man and is now beloved by gearheads worldwide.

The brand has even pivoted to the waters with incredible customized yachts.
