He used it to obtain a Ford SUV to replace his previous car.

YouTuber David Cartier went to Carvana after his sister gave him her old 2002 Jeep Liberty while he didn’t have a car but it was plagued with issues.

However, upon receiving the car, Cartier discovers an unexpected issue that he did not know about when he purchased the Ford as well as a surprise from his mechanic.

Buying online from Carvana was an easy process

Cartier praises the process of buying a car online via the Carvana website.

The YouTuber said that the whole process took him around 15 minutes and Cartier paid around $15,000 for his 2016 Escape.

Upon arriving at Carvana, Cartier saw the massive vending machine operation in action.

The vending machine takes a gigantic coin that Carvana gives you, and after inserting the coin, the machine grabs your car.

The machine pulls your car into its slot and brings it down to you. For this, Cartier heaps praise on Carvana’s processes.

However, Cartier wanted to take the Ford to a third-party garage to see how it performed. This would also test Carvana’s ‘160-point check’ policy, which is stated on its website.

A trip to the garage threw up some surprises with the Ford Escape

Upon taking the Escape to North Roswell Auto, the garage’s guys found a few minor issues.

A piece of trim was coming off, and the rear tires needed replacing.

The mechanics also noticed some slight cracking in the headlights.

Slightly different shades of paint on the passenger door indicated that the Escape had been in an accident.

However, the mechanic, Justin, says that they did an excellent job fixing the damage.

A few error codes were also thrown up in the system, and a new thermostat is something the mechanics recommended for the Ford.

Several issues underneath were also noted, such as a loose belt and a few leaks – however, the biggest surprise from the visit to the garage was that mechanic Justin actually took part in the trials for the Olympic games.

He also won three gold medals in the Junior Olympics, showcasing the talents of this mechanic.

Cartier then took the Ford to a Nissan dealership, and Carvana agreed to cover the cost.

However, while they fixed what they found in their inspection, they did not fix everything that North Roswell found.

This included the faulty thermostat – sadly, it failed and caused the car to overheat.

This led Cartier to bring the vehicle back to Carvana for a refund, hoping to get a new one without any problems.
