YouTuber Zack Nelson, the brains behind the channel JerryRigEverything, is known for his unorthodox unboxings.
He pairs dry and sarcastic commentary with various tests, involving scratching tools, pieces of paper and even a lighter.
He unboxed two RedMagic 10s, one dusk and one moonlight model, and luckily left the gray one unscratched and unburned.
According to Nelson, this is the most powerful gaming smartphone that’s ever been made.
It features the world’s first mobile liquid metal cooling system, a technology usually found in gaming laptops.
This allows its core temperature to drop by an impressive 21 degrees as the RGB fan spins at 23,000 RPM.
The phone has no camera bump on the back panel: it’s completely smooth and features transparent detailing.
The front camera is also special, in the sense that it’s completely invisible and undetectable—even under a microscope.
This was achieved with a manufacturing process that requires 20 unique steps and 13 more production processes than an average screen.
It also takes three times longer to produce.
The smartphone boasts a 95.3% screen-to-body ratio, surpassing the iPhone 16 Pro’s 90.1%.
Whether or not it has the same ‘game-changing’ button that the iPhone 16 Pro does remains to be seen.
The aluminium body of the RedMagic isn’t ultra-thin, unlike the cameraless iPhone that was made for one specific reason.
What makes this phone so 2040?
Interestingly, the fact that this smartphone has reintroduced the headphone jack makes it futuristic, as many users lament the day this feature was removed from iPhones.
It features a 100W USBC charging port that feeds a 7,500mAh internal battery, producing twice the capacity of an iPhone in one single charge.
This is truly a futuristic addition, seeing as we’re constantly trying to figure out new ways to make iPhone batteries last longer.
During the scratch test, the RedMagic’s screen showed some signs of damage, though it could still be unlocked with a fingerprint.
Apple might take the lead in this case, seeing as it’s working on a self-healing iPhone screen.
During the burn test, this game-changing smartphone actually extinguished the lighter’s flame, thanks to its powerful fan.
Viewers were impressed with this phone, which is essentially a handheld gaming laptop.
“The phone which humanity needs. Headphone jack, no camera bump, no attempt at being slim, large battery,” one commenter said.
“Love seeing the return of brick phones but that actually have some power in them,” another commenter said.
