A man who bought a C6 Chevrolet Corvette at auction discovered a nice surprise under its hood.
The car came from a salvage auction and the buyer said he knew just three things about the vehicle before he put in its bid.
The buyer explained that he knew that the Corvette was ‘totaled’ following an engine bay fire; he knew it was supercharged; and he knew that people had been stealing parts from the vehicle.
But it turned out that the Corvette was hiding a pretty cool secret that would make sure buyer ScrapLifeLee was more than happy with his purchase.

The buyer wasn’t sure what state the Corvette would be in
Rescuing cars that have been parked for an extended period of time can be a risk, you might get a nice surprise – such as the man who bought this rare ex-police 1964 Dodge 880 only to discover it still had its police-specification 413-cubic-inch (6.8-liter) V8 High-Performance engine.
Other times, there’s a less desirable find – like this 1971 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow that came complete with a squirrel’s nest under its hood.
But in the case of YouTuber ScrapLifeLee and his vintage ‘Vette, it was a very nice surprise indeed.
After snapping the car up at a salvage auction, he explained that he knew he was taking a big risk.
Thankfully for him, on this occasion that risk paid off.
“I had no idea how big of a homerun I’d hit,” he explained in the clip.
But it turned out to be a smart buy
